Arya Samaj, Jats and Khapland

To understand people's history of Haryana region  and Western Uttar Pradesh around Delhi, in general and  the  new awakening movement in Jat community in particular, with the introduction of Arya Samaj in this area. Incidentally my period of research is from 1857 to 1947. My village  Kadipur is situated near the western bank of Jamuna river in North East District of NCT Delhi. You must be aware that before Delhi was declared capital of India in 1911 Delhi was one of the District of the Punjab comprising of Delhi, Sonepat and Ballabhagarh Tehsils. My family had marital relations in the districts  of Delhi, Rohtak and Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Bulandshahar. My great grandfather Chaudhary jyasi Ram was the sole proprietor  and Lumbadar of Kadipur. Under the Land Settlement of Delhi District in 1880 he was appointed Zaildar of Alipur Zail comprising of 37 mostly Khadar villages. My grandfather Chaudhary Bhim Singh had Darshan of Sawami Dayanand Saraswati in 1877 at time Delhi Darbar (Assemblage) along with his father and one of the early pioneers of Arya  Samaj  in this region during the first two decades of the twentieth century.  Chaudhary Bhim Singh was the Wazier (President) of the Panchayat Azam (Panchayat the Great) held in village Barauna (Kheda of Dahiya), district Rohtak on 7 March 1911. During this period Mr. E. Joseph was the Deputy Commissioner of Rohtak, who was a fluent speaker of Haryanvi dialect because before becoming DC of Rohtak he was the Settlement Commissioner of that district. When Jat kaum vehemently insisted to hold the historic Panchayat, the then Punjab Government promulgated Prevention of Seditious Meeting Act 1907 in Rohtak district on 13 June 1910 to ban/regulate, this biggest congregation after the revolt of 1857 in Northern India. Chaudhary Bhim Singh and his equally leading friends, later on relatives such as Chaudhary Matu Ram and Dr. Ramji Lal Sanghi, Chaudhary Ramnarain Bhigan and Chaudhary Ganga Ram Gadhi Kundal were the primary Arya Samaj followers of this region in organising  in Shehri Khanda  Panchayat in December's 1906 against Pauraniks. He along with his elder brother Zaildar Tek Chand, his Samdhi Rai Bahadur Chaudhary Raghunath Singh Mitrau, Chaudhary Kali Ram Mangolpur Kalan (all from Delhi district) and Dr. Ramji Lal  Sanghi & Chaudhary Peeru Singh Matindu were founder member of the  All India Jat kshtriya Mahaasabha established in March 1907 in famous Nauchandi Mela at Meerut. These people organised Panchayat in various villages for the propagation of Savdeshi movement in Delhi district.  Arya Samaji Jats were also instrumental in the establishment of Jat Schools at Rohtak, Lakhavti, Badaut, Narela, Kheda Gadhi and Sangaria. Jat Boarding Houses were founded at Agra, Muzaffarnagar, Pilani, Bulandshahar, Gwalior etc. Researched on revolt (Bagawat) by the nativ Officers and Sepoys of 10 Jat Paltan in 1908 in Calcutta and many Jat newspapers since 1890's and Shekhavati movement. Chaudhary Tika Ram Mandaura keenly assisted Chaudhary Bhim Singh Kadipur in the establishment of Vedik Sanskrit Jat High School Kheda Gadhi in Delhi Province. Chaudhary Rijak Ram, Chaudhary khem Lal Rathi and Dr. Sarup Singh and Headmaster Dalel Singh were the alumni of this School.
